Job Opportunity | Administrative Officer, Christian Research Association

(Part-time: one day per week, or equivalent)

The Christian Research Association (CRA) is seeking to engage an Administrative Officer, to be located on-site at St Paschal’s Estate in Box Hill, Melbourne.

The Administrative Officer’s primary objectives are to assist in ensuring the smooth and efficient financial management of the CRA; to maintain and promote CRA’s services and products; to produce and distribute CRA’s quarterly bulletin and annual journal; and to assist the Research Coordinator and other researchers by providing a range of administrative services.

The position is one day per week (7.5 hours) at Box Hill, with the hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. There is potential for the role to increase as the organisation expands.

Applicants must have:

• Demonstrated skills and experience in general office administration.
• Good computer skills across a range of applications (MS Office or Open Office will be an advantage), with the ability to learn new software quickly.
• Good electronic, oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a small team, manage projects and to set own priorities with minimal supervision.
• Experience in dealing with a broad range of people in a courteous and helpful manner.
• Knowledge and understanding of Christian churches in Australia and an openness to working with people from various Christian faith traditions.

Training in specific skills may be available, including basic book-keeping (MYOB), database maintenance, desktop publishing and social media/website design.
