Dr Helen Cameron

Areas of Expertise: Theological Reflection; Faith-based Facilitation; Church-State Relations; Mission; Practical Theology; Non-profit Management

Dr Helen Cameron is Head of Public Affairs for the UK with Republic of Ireland Territory. Together with her team she promotes and defends the work of The Salvation Army with politicians and policy-makers in the interests of greater social justice for those people the Army serves.

Following a decade as a civil servant in the area of vocational education and training Helen entered postgraduate education and work/research as an academic.

From 2007 to 2010 Helen set up the Oxford Centre for Ecclesiology and Practical Theology at an Anglican Theological College, Ripon College Cuddesdon, undertaking research on Fresh Expressions of Church, emerging models of chaplaincy and community engagement. Collaboration with Heythrop College, London in the Action Research: Church and Society Project developed Theological Action Research and the Four Voices of Theology model of theological reflection.

A lifelong Salvation Army member, Helen lives near Oxford on a farm. Her husband is the shepherd.
