Professor Albert Haddad appointed Professor of Higher Education and Dean of Academic Programs

The University of Divinity is delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Albert Haddad as Professor of Higher Education and Dean of Academic Programs.

Professor Haddad comes to the University from the Victorian Institute of Technology where he is presently Professor of Higher Education and Associate Dean – Program Development and Quality Assurance. He has over 20 years’ experience in leadership roles in higher education and holds the degree of Doctor of Education from the University of Melbourne. His has previously worked in the theology and ministry sector at Alphacrucis and at Harvest Bible College, and is the founder of Leadwise Consulting Pty Ltd, a leadership and change management consultancy.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Sherlock, said

Professor Haddad brings a wealth of experience to the University. He has an outstanding track record as a collaborative leader. The selection panel was impressed by his deep understanding of contemporary trends in higher education and academic quality assurance, and by his passion for the University of Divinity’s vision, mission and values. I look forward to his contribution to the University as we continue to deliver high quality programs for our students.

Professor Haddad said

It is an honour and privilege to join the University of Divinity as the Dean of Academic Programs. I look forward to a great and effective relationship with the Vice Chancellor, the Academic Deans, Academic Board and all University Staff. I know it is a huge task ahead and I am looking forward to working collaboratively with everyone to achieve great things as One Team, Many Functions.

The Dean of Academic Programs is a senior appointment in the University, reporting to the Vice-Chancellor and working closely with the Academic Deans of the University’s Colleges, and is a member of the University Executive and Academic Board.

Professor Haddad will commence at the University on 28 March 2022, based at the St Paschal campus in Box Hill.
