ERA 2015

The University of Divinity’s research in Religion and Religious Studies has been assessed as a “3”, or “at world standard”, in the 2015 Excellence in Research for Australia evaluation. This matches the results obtained in 2010 and 2012.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Sherlock, commented:

“This excellent outcome testifies to the consistent quality of the scholarship of the academic staff of the University. The ERA results continue to highlight the University’s strength in theological research.”

“This result would not be possible without the long-term dedication of the academic staff of the University. It reflects our deep relationship with thirty partners in the churches and religious orders which provide significant funding for and benefit from our research.”

“Critical, high-quality research in Religion and Religious Studies remains of utmost importance in our contemporary world, and is fundamental to the University’s vision of addressing contemporary issues through critical engagement with Christian theological traditions.”

ERA is Australia’s national research evaluation framework, administered by the Australian Research Council. The University of Divinity is an Australian University of Specialisation, operating in the field of Philosophy and Religious Studies.
