Damascus – a new Heart of Life Program

Heart of Life Centre for Spiritual and Pastoral Formation – supported by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart – is proud to announce that it has today launched a new program the Damascus Spiritual Leaders Program which can be studied for credit through a Graduate Certificate in Divinity with the Yarra Theological Union (YTU), Catholic Theological College (CTC) through the University of Divinity (UD).

The program is designed for people in various positions of leadership, spiritual formation and outreach ministries. Formators, priests, ministers, members of religious Orders, spiritual health workers, pastoral associates/lay ecclesial ministers, community and spiritual leaders, chaplains, pastoral care practitioners, school principals, teachers, school mission leaders and those working in health will especially find the program of benefit.

Director of Heart of Life, Clare Shearman said, “This new program has been adapted from our Spiritual Leaders Program which has been offered by Heart of Life since 1989 as undergraduate units through YTU/UD. The enhancements have been made directly in response to requests we have received from those working in spiritual health care, education and religious formation. This program is designed to equip individuals to lead with integrity, vulnerability and resilience. It will focus on the inner spiritual journey in order to form wholistic leaders who listen, learn and accompany others with strength and sensitivity. Year after year we have heard and seen the positive difference our original program made in leader’s lives and in Heart of Life’s 40th Anniversary Year we are pleased to build on that foundation by offering this program as a Graduate Certificate Divinity from the UD through YTU and CTC.

Further details about the program can be found through this link https://www.heartoflife.melbourne/seminars-courses/damascus-spiritual-leaders/

Applications for the inaugural cohort in 2023 will be limited, closing on 6th January.
