Congratulations to the Most Reverend Kay Goldsworthy AO on her installation as Archbishop of Perth on Saturday 10 February 2018. An alumna of the University of Divinity, having completed her Bachelor of Theology through Trinity College Theological School in 1983, Archbishop Kay is the first woman in Australia to hold the title Archbishop.
Vice-Chancellor Peter Sherlock said “The University of Divinity has a long history of supporting women in theological education and leadership, ever since Winifred Kiek became the first woman in Australia to graduate with a theology degree from this institution in 1924. We are honoured to number Archbishop Kay amongst our many graduates. As she prepares to take up her new role in Perth, we give thanks for her exceptional service to the church and community, and offer her our prayers and support in the challenges that lie ahead.”
