Conference Theme: Context and Tradition

The influence of context on theology has been a growing area of interest for theologians and scholars of religion. This reflects a wider social movement towards recognition of and inclusion of different peoples and groups who were previously ignored, silenced or unobserved. At times, contextual theology has been placed as a competitor or threat to more traditional understandings. ANZATS 2023 seeks to have conversations about the ways context AND tradition can dialogue, positively interacting and informing each other.

ANZATS welcomes paper proposals on the conference topic, to be hosted within one of the streams listed in the linked button below, or individual papers on other general topics related to theology. To submit your proposal please go to www.anzats.edu.au/conference and complete the online form by Monday 10 April. Successful proposals will be notified by Monday 17 April.
