The University of Divinity and the Australian Collaborators in Feminist Theologies are launching a joint initiative to provide mentoring to academics at the University of Divinity who identify as feminist scholars. The scheme will support feminist research and leadership by pairing participants with a mentor to assist them in visualising and achieving their career goals. An overarching aim is to encourage reflection on what qualities and strategies enable feminist scholars and feminist scholarship. The scheme will launch in May 2020 as a pilot for a larger project in 2021.

We are looking for diverse colleagues who through their experience in the program and some focussed reflection will help identify what is needed to support the long-term learning and success of feminist scholars and feminist scholarship in tertiary education, in industry, in government or within a faith-based organisation.
If you are interested in joining the pilot program, please submit a short application (500 words) by 3 May 2020 explaining how you think this program will be helpful, what you expect it could offer or achieve, and identifying the lenses you would bring to your participation. Outline your research interests, and tell us what you can bring to the work of the pilot program cohort.
Please include a few thoughts on what one of the following mean to you:
- What is feminism?
- What intersectional, life-enhancing and liberating approaches do we bring as feminists to our field?
- What is feminist academia?
- What do we want to redefine or reclaim in this area?
- What is a feminist workload?
- How do we proactively and intentionally make our work align with our values?

The Australian Collaborators in Feminist Theologies network aims to consolidate and energise the University’s commitment to the participation of women and feminist scholars in the academy and the wider church. By fostering and forwarding feminist voice and vision we aim to promote Gospel justice by addressing issues relating to gender equality, class, race, sexuality, and ability.
