Library Hub: More new database trials

Additional online resources have recently been added to the list of current database trials. Depending on price and feedback from students and staff of the University, these online resources may be added to the Library Hub in 2019. Please email your feedback to library@divinity.edu.au

A full list of the 39 databases available via the University’s Library Hub can be found on the A-Z Databases page.  This list can be filtered by Database Type (e.g. Abstracts, eBooks, Journals, Reference, Specialist) or by Vendor/Provider (e.g. Ebsco, Oxford).

Psycarticles

This database offers full-text articles for journals published by the American Psychological Association, the APA Educational Publishing Foundation, the Canadian Psychological Association and Hogrefe & Huber. The database includes all material from the print journals. Many titles go back to volume 1, issue 1.

Psychology Database

This database provides abstracts and indexing for key Psychology titles, many which are available in full text. Many titles are indexed in PsycINFO. Coverage ranges from behavioral, clinical, cognitive, developmental, experimental, industrial and social psychology, along with personality, psychobiology and psychometrics.

The Encyclopedia of Christianity Online

This online encyclopedia describes modern-day Christian beliefs and communities in the context of 2000 years of apostolic tradition and Christian history. Based on the third, revised edition of the critically acclaimed German work Evangelisches Kirchenlexikon, The Encyclopedia of Christianity Online includes all 5 volumes of the print edition of 1999-2008 which has become a standard reference work for the study of Christianity past and present.

Brill Encyclopedia of Early Christianity Online

This online encyclopedia focuses on the history of early Christian texts, authors, ideas. Its content is intended to bridge the gap between the fields of New Testament studies and patristics, covering the whole period of early Christianity up to 600 CE. The BEEC aims to provide a critical review of the methods used in Early Christian Studies and to update the historiography.

World Christian Database

The World Christian Database provides comprehensive statistical information on world religions, Christian denominations, and people groups. Extensive data are available on over 9,000 Christian denominations, 13,000 ethnolinguistic peoples, as well as data on 5,000 cities, 3,000 provinces and 234 countries.

History of Global Christianity Online & Geschichte des globalen Christentums Online

This full-text searchable electronic resource deals with the history of Christianity and its global development over the past five centuries. Going above and beyond the subject of church history, it deals with the cultural role of Christianity in its widest sense: from the many interactions of Christianity within society, politics, economics, philosophy and the arts, to the myriad of ventures that form civilizations, nations, and communities.

De Gruyter Encyclopedia of the Bible and its Reception Online

The first comprehensive encyclopedia of interdisciplinary and international biblical reception. Contains Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, New Testament and historical contexts. Spans biblical reception in Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and other religions as well as in literature, visual arts, music, and film Approx. 1,400 new articles per year.

Brill Online Journal Collection Religious Studies

The Brill Online Journal Collection Religious Studies provides access to the online versions of Brill journals published in the field of Religious Studies. The University will subscribe to this collection from 2019. This will provide access to 56 Brill titles, including access to back volumes from 2000 to 2018.

The University of Divinity Library Hub provides all currently enrolled students, staff and other members of the University with access to an extensive range of online resources. This includes full-text databases, eJournals, eBooks, and a range of other useful resources.
