St Francis College, the theological college of the Anglican Church of Southern Queensland, has been offering formation in contemplative listening and Spiritual Direction for many years.
Since 2010 more than 80 people have completed the part-time four-year spiritual direction formation program recognized by the Australian Ecumenical Council of Spiritual Direction (AECSD).
St Francis College is now accredited to offer a Graduate Diploma in Spiritual Direction with the University of Divinity.
The Spiritual Direction courses are offered in mixed mode, with 3-day intensives in March and September/October to optimize the opportunity to gather together in person in Brisbane. It is also possible to do an introductory year in the Art of Contemplative Listening as part of discerning a vocation to Spiritual Direction. Applications to participate in St Francis College Spiritual Direction Formation Programs are due January 23, 2025.
