Whitley College is delighted to announce the launch of The Meewon Yang OAM Education Fund.
The Fund will advance the education of students from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds and with a first language other than English (LOTE).
It continues Whitley’s commitment to preparing CALD-LOTE students to do great things in their Christian context and beyond, as they have done for hundreds of students over the past 20 years.
Whitley named the fund after Rev Meewon Yang, who has served as the Multicultural Church Health Consultant at the BUV for more than 20 years. Whitley honours her tireless work promoting diversity and inclusivity across migrant churches and communities. Meewon is an alumna of Whitley College and continues to be an important support to their CALD-LOTE students.

All contributions over $2 are tax-deductible and will go a long way to enriching the experience of our CALD-LOTE students.
Whitley College is a culturally diverse community of learners committed to practical expressions of God’s activity in the world. We wrestle together in spiritual formation through theological reflection, creative exploration and academic rigour.
Shaped by the Bible, and drawing on our Baptist heritage, we are responsive to the contemporary needs of church and society, affirming liberty of conscience in conversation with other traditions of religion and spirituality.
Our educational ethos unifies heart, thought and hands, giving priority to personal and social transformation.
