It is my distinct pleasure to let you know the university has been renewed under section 36 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act) in the category of Australian University with a specialised focus, for a period of 7 years until 5 June 2031. The national register will be updated within 30 days of the date of the decision (3 June).
As part of the formal advice TEQSA acknowledged:
- The high calibre of the application, supporting materials and engagement of UD throughout the application process;
- Peter Sherlock’s leadership implementing the “risk framework and management mechanisms”;
- The “commitment to continuous improvement and robust quality assurance mechanisms across the Colleges.”
My thanks to everyone that contributed to the application process, particularly to the leadership of Emeritus Professor Peter Sherlock. It is a significant achievement and, most importantly, it is recognition of the high calibre of work you all undertake from week to week across the range of activities that encompasses the University of Divinity.
