UD faculty shortlisted for 2025 ANZATS Book Prizes

Congratulations to University of Divinity faculty, Liz Boase, Mark Jennings, Brian Kolia and Cathie Lambert, who have been shortlisted for the 2025 ANZATS Book Prize. For the 2025 prize, ten books published between mid- 2022 and the end of 2024 were submitted in each category and examined by the judging panel. Monographs submitted for the 2025 prizes were impressive in their scholarly depth and quality of work, and we congratulate all authors on their publications.

In the ANZATS Emerging Scholars Category, the Reverend Dr Brian Kolia was shortlisted for Carrying Qoheleth’s Maota (House): An Australian-Samoan Diasporic Reading (SBL Press), and the Reverend Dr Catherine Lambert was shortlisted for Dissident Women, Beguines, and the Quest for Spiritual Authority (Routledge).

In the ANZATS Established Scholars Category, Professor Elizabeth Boase was shortlisted for Trauma Theories: Refractions in the Book of Jeremiah (Sheffield Phoenix Press) and Associate Professor Mark Jennings was shortlisted for Happy: LGBTQ+ Experiences of Australian Pentecostal-Charismatic Christianity (Palgrave Macmillan).

The winner of each category will be announced at the ANZATS Conference Dinner on Wednesday 2 July.
