After the tenure of Fr Dr Daniel Ghabrial as Principal of St Athanasius College (SAC) concluded, the College Board, under the guidance of His Grace Bishop Rewis, General Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Melbourne and Far East Asia, appointed Fr Dr Shenouda Boutros as the new College Principal.
Fr Shenouda holds a Master of Theological Studies from the University of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania, USA. He offers extensive expertise to this role, evidenced by over a decade of service on SAC’s governing board, chaplaincy, and as a lecturer in Christian Ethics. He has consistently demonstrated strong administrative leadership and a steadfast dedication to pastoral care.
SAC was established through the foundational contributions of Mr Louis Wahba and was formally founded by His Grace Bishop Suriel, who worked tirelessly with College members to secure University accreditation in 2011. Since 2019, Fr Daniel Ghabrial has provided strategic leadership as principal, focusing on strengthening the College, advancing its vision, and supporting its mission to promote Christian Orthodox theological education in Australia while nurturing faith formation among future generations. As Fr Shenouda assumes this role, the College looks forward to his leadership in furthering the ministry and growth of the SAC community.

St Athanasius College is a college of the University of Divinity from the Coptic Orthodox tradition, based in Melbourne, Victoria.
