Peter Mac, a large public cancer hospital in Melbourne, has over 750 researchers and when the research is ready for clinical trials, the research group prepares an application that is submitted to the Peter Mac Human Research Ethics Committee. This committee must approve the application before the clinical trial can go ahead. The members of this committee include clinicians, scientists, people who have experience of cancer, lay people, lawyers and people in pastoral care positions.
We currently have an opening for someone who plays a pastoral care role in the community.
Committee members find this work rewarding and find it incredibly interesting to hear about the latest research happening at Peter Mac to improve cancer outcomes.
