I’m Voting Yes Badges

Today is the anniversary of the Uluru Statement from the Heart issuing – six years since the call for meaningful constitutional recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples through a Voice to Parliament.

The School of Indigenous Studies at the University of Divinity has “I’m Voting Yes” badges available. Badges cost AUD$2 each and are available for purchase with cash from two locations:

Bulk orders

Proceeds from the sale of the badges support the running of the School of Indigenous Studies.

Voice to Parliament

The Voice referendum will be held in late 2023. Just like a regular federal election, voting in a referendum is compulsory for all eligible Australian citizens aged 18 years and over.

Australians will vote on whether we should change the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by setting up an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice.

On referendum day, you’ll head into a voting booth and be asked to write ‘yes’ or ‘no’ in English in response to a single question that’s written on the ballot paper.
