Equity and Sustainability: a unit on Pope Francis, poverty and the environment
Yarra Theological Union offers a 12-week unit, Equity and Sustainability (DT2/3016Y, DT9016Y) that relates the thinking of Pope Francis and other religious leaders in efforts to lift living standards in developing countries, reform global economic systems and protect the environment to ensure a sustainable future.
The unit examines key issues for world development, including the dialogue between religious values and economic matters. It is offered in the second semester. The lecturer is Dr Bruce Duncan.
