Book Launch – Divine Righteousness

ATF Press invite you to the launch of

Reverend Associate Professor Mark O’Brien‘s book:

Restoring the Right Relationship: The Bible on Divine Righteousness

This event will be held on Friday 5 September, 5.00pm, at Catholic Theological College, 278 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne.

The well-known biblical scholar Hans Heinrich Schmid believes that righteousness, or the right order of the world, is ‘the fundamental problem of our human existence’. Previous studies have tended to focus on Israel’s call to be righteous, as voiced in the Prophetic Books and Psalter. In contrast, this book focuses on divine righteousness, the basis for all other notions of righteousness, as it is outlined in the the foundational teaching or revelation of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament—the Torah or Pentateuch. It then examines how other biblical books relate to this foundational teaching.

RSVP to Jill Allen by emailing jill.allen@ctc.edu.au, or phone 9412 3304 by Tuesday 2 September
