Australian Journal of Mission Studies: seeking expressions of interest

The AJMS focuses on Christian mission studies in Australasia and the South Pacific. My name is Dr Evelyn Hibbert, and I have been asked to edit the June 2025 edition of the journal on a special topic. Proposed articles for this edition could either focus on gender and mission in Australasia or the South Pacific or, alternatively, be articles concerned with broader issues written by authors from this region.

We are trying to gauge whether there is sufficient interest to produce this special edition. If you would like to contribute could you please send me an email (evelyn.hibbert@gmail.com) giving me a general idea of what you would like to write about by Friday 23rd August.

The deadline for the submission of articles will be the end of March 2025.

  • Dear Evelyn,

I would be most interest in contributing an article. I am a systematic theologian. I am a lecturer to the SVD seminarians from across the region as well as and women religious in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands via the Mercy Sisters Theological Program. “Gender and Mission” is most relevant in my work of theological education for mission and practice, given the diversity, culture, history, as well as the social framework of those I work with. I apologize for the late reply as I have been flat out on editing another journal myself.

    Please register my interest.
