Declaration of ResultSarah Castilla – Higher Degree by Research Student Member
Sarah is a current PhD candidate at Pilgrim Theological College researching on Postcolonial Biblical Criticism, specifically on the promise of Jesus as the Son of Man in the gospel according to Mark, a re-reading by utilising a Chinese proverb: “To Fight Poison with Poison.” Through her thesis, she aims to bring diverse voices from minoritised and marginalised places. She hopes that her studies can encourage diversification of voices in the academic space, and inspire minority communities who share similar backgrounds to pursue higher education and research that will add nuance to biblical interpretations.
Hamish McLachlan – Coursework Student Member
Hamish is a full-time theology student at St Barnabas College, North Adelaide. He also works part time at an Anglican church. He has had a range of experience in different areas of work, for example in small and large law firms and in hospitality. He hopes to become a priest in the future and that is why he has returned to study. He is pleased to have been elected to the Academic Board of the University of Divinity and looks forward to the years ahead.
