Public Lecture: Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur

You are invited to attend a free public lecture, Tracing the Story of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur: How Jews Celebrate, Adapt, and Belong, presented by Rabbi Moshe Givental through Trinity College Theological School. You will be joining students studying the Semester 1 unit, From Song of Songs to Lamentations: Biblical Voices in Contemporary Jewish Festivals, co-taught by Associate Professor Rachelle Gilmour and Dr Natalie Mylonas, who have been exploring the Five Scrolls in the Hebrew Bible (Song of Songs, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, and Esther), examining both their biblical contexts and their integral role in contemporary Jewish liturgy and festival observance.
Rabbi Moshe will be delivering the lecture live via Zoom from the United States, and will introduce students to Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, the most sacred days in the Jewish calendar. See our event poster to share or for further details.
