Yves Congar, “Martin Luther: His Faith, and His Reform”, translated and with a foreword by Roger Whittall. Published by ATF Press, Adelaide.
Yves Congar was one of the most respected French theologians of the last century, hugely influential in shaping the Second Vatican Council’s teaching on the church. He engaged with Luther’s theology throughout his career and this book was first published in French for the 500th anniversary of Luther’s birth in 1983. It is a fascinating study of Luther’s life and theology, from the perspective of a prominent Catholic ecumenist.
The launch is being held at the new ALC Library, 22 Pulteney Street, at 5pm on Thursday 30th October.
Join members of the Australian Lutheran-Catholic Dialogue teams for an hour or so of sparkling conversation and glass or two of French wine. An excellent opportunity to explore the new library facilities. All welcome!
