
Book Launch of Peter Sherlock’s ‘The Monuments of Westminster Abbey: Power and Memory in Early Modern Britain’

Join us as Professor Catherine Kovesi launches The Monuments of Westminster Abbey: Power and Memory in Early Modern Britain by Professor Peter Sherlock. You are also invited to attend Choral Evensong at the Cathedral prior to this event, beginning at 5.10pm.
This book is the first critical history of Westminster Abbey’s sixteenth- and seventeenth-century monuments, tracing the Abbey’s transformation from monastery to a centre of public commemoration. With 32 illustrations, including historic images and photographs, the book reveals the colour and creativity of early modern remembrance.
Books will be available on the night for $60 (cash or card), and the author will be signing.
