The development of Artificial Intelligence is occurring at an unprecedented pace, and the benefits and challenges it presents to society and individuals are enormous. As happens so often with new technology, ethics is trying to catch up with its progress and effects. With the advent of Pope Leo’s encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, the Church’s role as a moral guide has again been put into focus. This seminar examines the Church’s involvement in the world of AI and its ability to act as a force for good amidst fast-moving and complicated developments. This seminar is presented by Rev Dr Cameron Forbes.
