Academic Promotion/Classification Information Session (9 April)

For some time, and intensively through 2025, the Academic Promotions Committee has been engaged in revising the University’s guidelines for academic classification and promotion, both to simplify the application process and to make the assessment of applications clearer and more equitable.

The final changes were approved by the Academic Board in February 2026, and the updated Academic Staff Policy can be read here.

Throughout March and April 2026, members of the Academic Promotions Committee will be leading sessions to introduce the new guidelines and processes to academic staff. If you are a member of Academic Staff at the University of Divinity, and planning to apply for promotion soon, please consider attending one of these online workshops.

Sessions will include:

• Introduction to policy and procedural changes
• Working through a sample application together
• Opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification
