This unit, offered at St Barnabas College in Semester 1, 2026, introduces students to Koine Greek—the language of the New Testament and other key Judaeo‑Christian texts. Through accessible lessons in core grammar, essential vocabulary, and practical communication skills, learners begin reading, hearing, and speaking Greek.
The unit highlights why the New Testament and other Koine sources matter for biblical study, theology, and ministry formation. Students will translate selected passages from the New Testament, the Septuagint, and early Christian writers, gaining firsthand insight into the texts that shaped the Christian tradition.
The unit is being offered as a level 1 undergraduate unit (AL1321Z) and postgraduate foundational unit (AL8321Z), on Thursday afternoons 1-4pm and can be done face-to-face or online.
Apply today! Semester 1 runs from 23 February until 12 June 2026.
