Aboriginal Cultures and Spirituality Intensive with St Barnabas College in Semester 1 2026

Step into a transformative journey that goes far beyond the classroom.

Aboriginal Cultures and Spirituality is more than an academic unit – it’s an invitation to connect deeply with the world’s oldest living cultures. Through immersive learning and respectful engagement, students explore the profound spiritual and cultural traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This experience opens minds and hearts, offering insights into ways of knowing, being, and belonging that have shaped this land for over 60,000 years. From ancient wisdom to contemporary voices, you’ll engage with stories, and practices that challenge, inspire, and enrich your understanding of identity, place and community.

Aboriginal Cultures and Spirituality may be studied as part of an academic award, a single accredited academic unit, or an audit unit. The unit is offered as a 2nd level undergraduate unit (IS2002M) and as a postgraduate elective unit (IS9002M).

The unit will be taught by The Right Rev’d Chris Mcleod at St Barnabas College as an intensive from the 16th to the 19th of February which attendance can be either online or in person. There will also be additional online tutorials on dates to be advised.

Speak with your home college Academic Dean to discuss how the unit will fit into your course and study plans.
