Earlier this week, Whitley College’s Reverend Dr Titus Olorunnisola, was featured in the ABC News for his insights on how migrant and overseas Christians are shaping the future of Australian churches.
In the article, Titus reflects on why Christianity continues to flourish in many non-Western contexts. He notes that in communities facing poverty, instability, or political unrest, faith becomes more than belief, it becomes a vital source of hope, strength, and refuge.
“The only hope that people have is to hold on to their faith as a source of strength, hope and refuge.”
He also highlights how Christianity across parts of Africa and the Pacific is deeply intertwined with Indigenous worldviews, where spiritual protection and the unseen world are part of everyday understanding.
These insights shed light on the rising “spiritual temperature” in Australian churches and the profound contributions migrant communities are making to local faith life.
Congratulations to Titus on this national recognition of his important work.
