The Academic Board of the University of Divinity includes two student representatives, elected by the student body for a term of twelve months in accordance with Regulation 2. I therefore call for nominations for the following positions:
- One coursework student, to be elected by coursework students, for a term of one year from 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2016
- One research student, to be elected by research students, for a term of one year from 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2016
Nominations for each of these positions are to be made on the 2015 Student Nomination Form, which is to be sent to the Returning Officer by email at jreaney@divinity.edu.au or posted to University of Divinity, Returning Officer, 21 Highbury Grove, KEW 3101, Victoria.
Nominations must be received by 5pm, Friday 20 March 2015 so please act promptly if you wish to nominate yourself or someone else.
Any currently enrolled student who will be studying throughout 2015 (i.e. who will not complete their course during Semester 1) may nominate. A student may nominate themselves or another student. If nominating someone else, please ensure that the nominee completes the consent section on the Nomination Form.
As the outcome may need to be decided by an election, all nominees are required, to be considered eligible for nomination, to supply a short biography (less than 100 words) highlighting their suitability for the role. If required, an election will be held by electronic ballot in the week commencing Monday 23 March.
Students interested in nominating are strongly encouraged to contact their College to discuss the role and responsibilities.
The student representatives will receive a comprehensive induction into the operation of Academic Board before they assume their role.
The Academic Board of the University of Divinity exercises oversight of academic programs and courses of study and other academic affairs, and provides advice to the University Council on academic matters, as required under Regulation 2: General Academic Provisions. Terms of Reference for the Academic Board can be found here.
Academic Board meetings are held at Catholic Theological College, East Melbourne at 9.30 am on the following Fridays in 2015: 24 April; 29 May; 7 August; 18 September; and 6 November. Videoconference and teleconferencing facilities are available to members who are unable to attend in person, and members who live outside of Victoria are eligible to claim travel costs.
