This unit will examine the mystery of the Church, and the nature and principles of ecumenism. The foundation and early development of the Church will be presented together with ecclesial images and models. The marks of the Church together with the nature and role of the Magisterium will be examined.
This will lead to reflection on the communion and mission of the church. Examination of the ecumenical movement in recent history will flow into a consideration of theological convergence.
