Semester 1 unit at Trinity College Theological School
In an age of demagogues and alternative truths, what might true leadership look like? Drawing on Old and New Testament paradigms, this module explores how patterns of leadership have emerged over the centuries, particularly in the three-fold order of bishops, priests and deacons. However, Scripture has not been the only formative influence, so further study is made of how earthly and secular understandings of leadership, historical and contemporary, shape Christian expressions of leadership in contemporary Australia, and whether this has been for good or ill. The course further addresses how the leadership should foster the mission of the church.
