Semester 2, 2021 at Yarra Theological Union
Foundations for Christian Spirituality addresses understandings of spirituality and various approaches to its study, e.g. (i) historical, (ii) theological and (iii) anthropological. Traditional Christian spiritualities, both apostolic and mystical are examined, as well as other selected spiritualities, including indigenous and eco-spiritualities. The unit includes a transformational component, inviting students to relate the study of spirituality to their own personal contexts.
For the first time this Semester, the unit will include a contribution by University of Divinity First Peoples Coordinator and Aboriginal academic Naomi Wolfe.
Tuesday 9:30am–12:30pm (Box Hill)
