I’m a graduand – what do I need to know?

Please arrive between 4.30-6.15pm to register your attendance. Registration will be held outside the main entrance of St Patrick’s Cathedral. Once registered you will be directed across the road to St Peter’s Eastern Hill Hall where you will be able to get your regalia. If you have time after registration and regalia to leave the premises, you are welcome to do so. Please return no later than 6.30pm to be seated.

The Ceremony
Graduands must return to the Cathedral to be seated at 6.30pm. If you are not seated by 6.50pm you will not be able to take part in the ceremony, but will graduate in absentia. You may stay for the ceremony but you will have to find a seat for yourself among the guests at the back.

I’m running late or can’t attend
If you are running late or are no longer able to attend it is very important that you get a message to University staff as quickly as possible. Please call Meg Nelson, graduation coordinator, on the mobile number provided to you by email – or call the University on (03) 9853 3177 (until 7pm).

I’m a guest – what do I need to know?

Doors to St Patrick’s Cathedral open 60 minutes prior to the ceremony, which begins promptly at 7.30pm. Please ensure you are seated before 7.20pm. Entry is through the front entrance (corner of Cathedral Place and Macarthur Street).

Public parking is not available in the Cathedral grounds. We recommend using public parking facilities at the Park Hyatt Car Park (Wilson Parking) at a cost of $10 Night parking rate (enter after 4pm and exit before 6am next day).

Toilet facilities
Toilet facilities for guests are located in the building immediately adjacent to the Cathedral. As you exit the main doors of the Cathedral turn left, walk along the garden until you so past a water feature running down-hill. The toilets are in the building just next to the next water feature (circular shape).
