Not Just Life After Death: Cosmic Hope in the Gospel of John
Reverend Professor Dorothy Lee is the guest of St Peter’s Cathedral and St Barnabas College. Dorothy is here for 2 sessions on 25 September; a presentation for academics and students at St Barnabas College, (1pm – 3pm), and a public lecture in the Cynthia Poulton Hall, 7pm. Both events explore the work of the Gospel of John which features in the current Company of Preachers sessions, and a St Barnabas College semester 2 subject.
Dorothy Lee is a New Testament scholar with a particular interest in the Gospels. She reads them from a literary and theological perspective, with attention to their context in the ancient world. Dorothy has many years of experience lecturing in this area, with a special focus on the Gospel of John as narrative and theology. She has also written and taught feminist theology and women’s ministry in the New Testament. Dorothy is an Anglican priest in the Diocese of Melbourne associated with St Mary’s North Melbourne, she is a Canon of St Paul’s Cathedral Melbourne and of Holy Trinity Cathedral Wangaratta, and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities.Register for evening public lecture
